Proximity to Custer National Park and other local attractions
The room we stayed in was seperated by a major road from the office and breakfast area. The breakfast area is tiny and breakfast was limited, baked beans (Scottish Style!!) and chocolate biscuits. Motel is very basic, don't expect any extras such as laundry, vending machines, pool etc.
The couple that is in charge does a wonderful job to make your stay wonderful. They tell you there are available 24 hours and they are.
The staff was friendly and the unit was clean and a good value.
The location in Hot Springs was very good for getting around town.
The overwhelming smell of curry in the front desk area. In fact, the smell was so strong that we could not bear to stay for breakfast even though it was free. Come to think of it, the breakfast was pretty disappointing as well - a few donuts and muffins, that's all.
I got exactly what I was looking for, a clean, comfortable room at a reasonable price. Dollar Inn Hot Springs gave me exactly that. There was nothing fancy, just nice clean digs for a good night of rest and the staff was exceptional in helping provide that..T
I was pleasantly surprised. It was a quiet location just right outside of town.
Staff were very accommodating, gave me an extra pillow. Gave a lovely gift of a t-shirt and two wallets with the information about the Inn, very nice gesture. I really liked that they had late office hours for we came in late each night. Great location for touring through the national park close by. We were on bikes and it was a great location for bike touring.
Was worried about the location being on the corner and the noise, but actually it was quite easy to sleep with no disruption of vehicle noise.
The staff was very helpful when you had questions. The staff also knew the area to help you get around.
The ease and access of the location, the speedy and friendly check-in & out, the wonderful staff, and the very clean and nice room, and the bottom line price. Great value and great location.
Hot Springs was a pleasant surprise. Dollar inn was sufficient and comfortable for a road trip. In spite of it being on a corner, there was not much noise (quiet town and everything closed by 9:00pm). Down stairs room at back was good.
Breakfast wasn't much and no real eating area. You are better to go to the bakery in the main street.
The facility was clean, convenient and the staff and owners were great. The continental breakfast was minimal but for the value, no complaints from our family. The location was perfect for the sights we wanted to see, especially for attending the buffalo roundup at Custer State Park. My husband and I enjoyed the convenience of being so close to the wildlife and would drive out to listen to the elk bugleing near the park in the early mornings. If you want a good value, clean rooms and exceptional customer service try Dollar Inn.
The bedding (mattress covers) could use upgrading.
The room was clean, comfortable beds, good shower, mic/refrig and coffeepot in room. Breakfast was provided and I would say an average motel offering.
This is, In my opinion, not a good spot for multiple days, if you're in Black Hills to see the sites. Motel is not within walking distance to grocery or dining. We checked in mid-September on a Sunday and was difficult to find a restaurant open. They advertise free wireless. However, for the two nights we stayed we had zero cell service and wireless that was poor to non- existent. An ok motel for an over -nite on a budget.
The manager was great for information.
Clean, provides refridge and microwave to every unit
The WiFi signal is too weak, have to go to the front desk to get the signal.
This was a motel that was very good value for money. The owners were very nice. The breakfast was ok. It was in a great location for us as we wanted to spend time in Hot Springs and Deadwood. Would stay there again if in the area.
